Google Pay is a digital wallet platform and online payment system developed by Google to power in-app, online, and in-person contactless purchases on mobile devices, enabling users to make payments with Android phones, tablets, or watches.

Many people do many transactions in a day where they use the UPI pin last to authenticate the transaction. Similarly, whenever you do any Google Pay transaction you have to enter the UPI pin to initiate a transaction.

But sometimes there is an error that occurs when you are verifying your authority by OTP which causes the issue called “Incorrect OTP. Please Try again (ZR)”.

1. Type the correct OTP

If you have the same number on your Google Pay phone then it will automatically verify the OTP but if you have a phone number and Google Pay account on different devices then chances are you have typed the wrong OTP number that you entered is incorrect and thus this issue arises.

So keep calm and patient when you are waiting for PIn. Sometimes you get multiple PIn where you get confused about which one is correct so in this don’t do anything for 5 minutes and then type the latest OTP that you have received.

2. Update GPay

If you are running an old version of GPay then it may have some bugs. So try installing the updated version of apps from different App Download Sites or from Playstore.

To Update GPay from the Play Store follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Open the Play Store app then tap on your profile present in the upper-right corner.
2. Then go to ‘Manage apps and device’ and go to ‘Updates available’.
3. Then find GPay and tap Update.

If GPay is not on the list then your App must be up to date already. In this case, follow the next solution.

3. Restart The device

Sometimes your smartphone gets some bugs and in such cases rebooting your smartphone is the best option that you can do to overcome such bugs. Simultaneously, restarting can resolve the problem related to the network.

4. Clear Cache and Data

  • Go to your phone’s settings.
  • Navigate to the “Apps” or “Application Manager.”
  • Find Google Pay, and clear its cache and data.
  • Retry adding the SBI bank account.

Remember clearing data will clear all data related to GPay, this means that you will have to set up your account from the start.

5. Update Google Pay

  • Ensure you are using the latest version of the Google Pay app.
  • Visit the Google Play Store, search for Google Pay, and update the app if needed.
  • Outdated versions may have compatibility issues.

6. Check System Time

Make sure the date and time settings on your device are accurate. Incorrect time settings can lead to OTP validation failures. You can go to Settings and search for the Clock option. Choose the option “Set time Automatically” and see if the issue is solved.

7. Try Another Network

Switch to a different Wi-Fi network or use mobile data. Sometimes, network issues can affect OTP delivery and validation.

8. Use Another Device

  • Try adding the SBI bank account on a different device.
  • This helps determine if the issue is specific to your device or account.
  • If you find that the issue is specific to your device go to the service center and explain your problem.

9. Verify Mobile Number

  • Confirm that the mobile number registered with SBI is correct and active.
  • Update the number if necessary before retrying.
  • You can request a Bank employee to keep your account open to do online transactions and link to UPI, they will do that for you.

10. Update Phone Operating System

Ensure your phone’s operating system is up to date. System updates may resolve compatibility issues with certain apps.

11. Contact support
